WGGB Weaving School

This class will explore methods for weaving with a supplementary warp but without the need to have a double back beam. Supplemental warp threads take up at a different rate from the ground warp and therefore need to be tensioned separately. We will use alternate methods of tensioning the supplementary warp.

Students will also learn how to turn a draft which changes the pattern weft into a supplementary warp pattern woven over a plain weave ground fabric. This allows more flexibility in design placement and creates a fabric with more drape.
